Is JAAV a recognized school by the government?

School is recognised by Directorate of Education vide their letter no. EO-24/95/Recognition/2195-2204 dated 2-11-1995 from class Ist to VIIIth (without aid) w.e.f. academic session 1995-96.

Does JAAV receive government funding?

Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi, has approved annual grant based on the number of children & salaries of teachers, contingencies, building maintenance & repairs since 1985. However, this grant is insufficient to meet all the requirements of the school.

In that case, how does JAAV raise resources to meet its requirement ?

It depends heavily on generous donations from various sources. Every day, public support and generosity allow us to improve the lives of these visually challenged children (Donation received in last 5 years) 

Will my donation be exempt for tax ?

Donations to school are exempt from Income Tax as per u/s 80-G of the Income Tax Act 1961 Govt. of India letter no.DIT(E)\2002-2003-J-266/89/3330 dated 24-3-2004. School gives receipt and certificate for claiming these exemptions.

Are you authorised to receive foreign contributions?

School is authorised to accept Foreign contribution as per FCRA letter no.II/21022/83(92)91-FCRA, III, dated 3-3-1992 Registration no.231650631.

Will my small contribution make a difference?

Sure it will. All small contributions put together add up to a LOT!

How do you ensure that the funds you receive are spent on overall development and the needs of visually challenged children ?

Financial accountability is a matter of importance at JAAV. We have stringent accounting and financial reporting procedures to ensure that the funds and products are properly used.

Will I receive any details of the child sponsored by me ?

You will receive the details of the child sponsored by you along with his/her photograph. The school will inform you about the monthly progress of the child.

Can I visit my sponsored child ?

Of course! Nothing is better than meeting the child you are sponsoring face-to-face, to see how your child lives and witness firsthand what your contributions help provide.
